Kisawa Sanctuary

Kisawa Sanctuary opened in 2021 on Benguerra Island off the coast of Mozambique in the Indian Ocean. The 300-hectare luxury resort aims to create a harmonious connection between people and nature, take social and environmental responsibility, and achieve a positive impact for the people of Mozambique and their natural environment. Kisawa Sanctuary combines Mozambican and African architecture and design elements, reinterpreting them while sensitively blending into the environment. The majority of the materials used are local, as are most of the carpenters, construction workers and textile specialists.
Kisawa is a combination of 11 one, two and three bungalow residences, positioned within a 300 hectare stretch of forest, beach and sand dunes featuring a spa area, a children's area with sauna, and four restaurants/bars for the highest culinary experiences. The different residences consist of 1 to 3 spacious bungalows, each with a bedroom, dressing room, bathroom and living room. Each residence has a very spacious outdoor area with terraces, fully equipped kitchen, outdoor living area, private infinity pool and private beach for complete privacy.
A special focus is placed on generous, personal and warm hospitality.
The neighboring Bazaruto Archipelago National Marine Park is home to some of the richest and least explored subtropical ecosystems in the Indian Ocean, offering visitors incredible flora and fauna.
