Morukuru River House

Three luxury villas – Owner´s House, Farm House and River House – are parts of the exclusive, private boutique resort Morukuru Family Lodge. River House can accommodate six adults and four children. Every double bedroom has a fireplace and a shady deck. Children share one bedroom with two bunk beds. River House combines European styling with traditional African pieces. It is an oasis of taste and comfort set amongst South Africa´s untamed wilderness featuring a wonderful indoor and outdoor flow, plenty of places for al fresco dining and several decks to enjoy a siesta under the impressive mighty trees. The heated infinity pool is surrounded by the comfortable loungers for relaxing moments. The stuff team of eight includes a dedicated chef, butler, hostess, nanny, housekeeper as well as a private safari guide and tracker for you to personalize your itinerary completely. Morukuru offers games and outdoor activities for children supervised by skilled and experienced rangers at all times. While the children are kept busy the parents can embark on a bush walk, enjoy a spa treatment or just relax at the pool. For larger groups of up to ten adults and four children River House can be rented together with Owner´s House. Each of the properties enjoys a completely private location, yet they are within strolling distance to each other.

Morukuru Family Resort is located on the banks of the Marico river in Madikwe Game Reserve in the North West Province of South Africa. Established in 1991, malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve is 75,000 ha in size. Today it is one of South Africa’s top wildlife destinations offering the chance to see a variety of birds and an innumerable spectrum of fish and game including Africa’s ‘big five’: elephants, lions, rhinos, leopards and African buffalos. Morukuru is entirely centered on the guest experience therefore all activities are tailor-made to the guests´ personal interests and wishes, be it game drives, bush walks, fishing safaris, bird-watching or outdoor adventures for children.
