The holiday home offers space for up to eight guests with four traditionally designed bedrooms and four modern bathrooms. Except for one room, all the other rooms have a breathtaking sea views and provide a picturesque backdrop for your stay. The spacious living areas, including an open-plan dining room and cosy verandas, are designed to catch the refreshing sea breeze and create a comfortable and relaxed environment. At Kosgoda Retreat, you will have an authentic Sri Lankan experience in harmony with the natural environment. The careful design of the rooms maximises the cooling effect of the sea breeze and ensures a pleasant climate. The property boasts a beautiful tropical garden, which features an impressive variety of shrubs, palms, flowers, water lilies and orchids. The house, located directly by the sea, has a large lawn and a multitude of coconut palms. A gate leads to the nearby beach. A large dining pavilion offers space for dining and relaxing and is equipped with a barbecue and a pizza oven. A garden veranda near the swimming pool invites you to read in the shade or enjoy a drink at sunset. This holiday home is not just a place to stay, but an experience. The direct access to the beach with its soft sand and gentle waves invites you to relax and reconnect with nature. The prime location of the house in Kosgoda, which is known for its efforts to protect sea turtles, offers a unique opportunity to observe these majestic creatures in their natural habitat. Experience the warm hospitality for which Sri Lanka is known. Kosgoda Retreat is run by the resident couple Duminda and Lalini. Duminda works as a driver, gardener, pool attendant and waiter in the evenings. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are not included in the rental price. Ms Lalini, the cook, is responsible for preparing the meals. Clients are not entitled to use the kitchen on their own, but you are welcome to help Lalini. Mrs Lalini is an experienced cook who can prepare all kinds of delicious curries with fresh produce, unusual vegetables, fish, seafood and meat. All dishes are seasoned with amazing spices. She is also able to prepare a range of European dishes and excellent desserts. Every day, she discusses your preferences with you and puts together a menu for the day. You will cover the cost of the ingredients while Lalini shops for them. Lalini charges 5000 rupees (about 17 euros) per day to prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner. Payment is made directly to Lalini. Bottled water, tea and coffee are included with meals. A tuk-tuk is available for excursions in the area. The cost of petrol will be charged separately. If you would like a sightseeing tour in the area, Duminda will be happy to organise individual tours for an extra charge. He has many years of experience as a tour guide. Lily and Toby, the house dogs, are also present. They are very friendly and love beach walks. If guests do not like dogs, they can be kept away.
