Sail in the private ambience of the yachts "Kapetan Kosmas" / "Anatolie" or "Syrolana" to the Saronic Islands

Aegina - Kyra - Epidaurus - Poros - Hydra - Spetses - Perdika - Aegina

7 days / 6 nights

The ships are registered as official tourist sailing boats in Greece and comply with all necessary technical requirements and safety standards. The experienced skipper and his crew make you feel like you're on your own yacht. The cruise starts in Aegina - an ideal starting point as it can be reached in 40 minutes from Athens by regular ferry.

A typical day on board:
After breakfast we leave the harbour and sail for a few hours, mostly along the coast, to a beautiful bay for swimming, snorkelling, paddling or sunbathing. Meanwhile the crew prepares a Mediterranean lunch with starter, main course and dessert. Drinks are in "open bar". After a small siesta we sail for 1 to 2 more hours to the harbour of the next island. You have time to visit the island, taste the local delicacies in one of the taverns or just stroll through the harbour villages. The boat remains in the harbour so that guests can return on board any time.

Dates:
2020 bookable as private charter until mid-May and after end of October

Itinerary:
Day 1 Sunday Epidaurus
Embarkation in Aegina 8.30h am (Arrival from Athens possible in the morning, we recommend to spend the night in Aegina the evening before). Departure 9:30h, lunch in one of the beautiful bays of Kyra Island. The island Kyra is almost uninhabited - at times only the monastery and a farm in the interior of the island are inhabited. Arrival in Epidaurus at about 16.00h. Epidaurus, since 1988 UNESCO world cultural heritage, is the most important cult site for the god of healing Asclepias in Greece. The ruins are embedded in an old pine forest from which slender cypresses rise. Time to visit the well-preserved theatre with a magnificent view of the mountain landscape.

Day 2 Monday Poros
After breakfast departure towards Poros. The island of Poros is of volcanic origin and only separated from the Peloponnese by a narrow channel. Poros has a size of only 23 sqkm and offers many fine sandy as well as stony beaches in sheltered bays. The many old, well-preserved houses give the capital Poros its picturesque appearance.

Day 3 Tuesday Hydra
Already early we leave the harbour and anchor for breakfast in one of the picturesque bays. Around noon we reach the car-free island of Hydra. The island is famous for its traditional architecture, which dates back to the prosperity of Hydra around 1800. Hydra is a meeting point for many painters and artists. Time to stroll through the harbour with its lively cafes, restaurants and art galleries. Steep alleys, bare hills with white churches and footpaths by the sea invite you to take a stroll. Donkeys are available for further walks.

Day 4 Wednesday Spetses
After an ample breakfast we sail off towards Spetses. On the way we stop in a beautiful bay for swimming, snorkelling and lunch. Arrival in Spetses about 17.00h. The small island Spetses is known for its glorious history, in which ships played a special role, as well as for its aristocratic atmosphere. Spetses is lush vegetation with pine forests and has beautiful sandy beaches with crystal clear water. Spetses town is car-free, on the island only residents with special permits are allowed to drive. Explore the island by moped, bicycle or traditional horse-drawn carriage.

Day 5 Thursday Perdika/Aegina
Today we sail early. For breakfast and for lunch we stop in a picturesque bay. In the afternoon we reach the small fishing village Perdika on Aegina Island. Perdika is considered a small jewel and is known for its numerous fish taverns. In Perdika you can also buy a typical souvenir: Aegina pistachios, gourmets rave about - on the fertile island of Aegina almost 5% of the world-wide pistachio harvest is achieved.

Day 6 Friday Aegina
After breakfast we leave Perdika for our last day at sea. We pass the small inhabited island of Angistri, where we have time for swimming and snorkelling. In the late afternoon we return to Aegina, where we spend the last night on board.

Day 7 Saturday Disembarkation
Disembarkation after breakfast.

Depending on the wind, alternative route via Poros - Hydra - Kyparissi - Monemvasia - Ieraka - Spetses - Aegina.
Short-term route changes possible due to weather and wind conditions.
